Clay joined the firm in 2026, where his practice focuses on estate planning, real estate, and business transactions. He is licensed in both Idaho and Wyoming.
Clay was raised in Star Valley, Wyoming. He attended Brigham Young University and earned a B.A. degree in History. He then attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa where he obtained a Juris Doctor degree.
Upon completion of law school, Clay advised clients for Wells Fargo Private Bank in the areas of estate planning and trust administration from 2011 to 2014.
Prior to joining Beard St. Clair Gaffney, Clay served as Legal Counsel at Ball Ventures for 12 years, focusing his practice on estate planning, trust administration, commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, and business transactions.
Clay enjoys golf, snowmobiling, collegiate sports, and spending time with his wife and three children.
