Agribusiness
Large farms, ranches, and processing facilities rely on us here at Beard St. Clair to handle their agriculture and agribusiness needs. Attorneys working in this area have worked with potato french frying, potato dehydrating, onion dehydrating, vegetable dehydrating, fresh potato buying and selling, seed processing, genetic development, and commodities trading.

Being familiar and keeping up to date on regulatory laws is a high priority to us.  We are familiar with Food and Drug laws applicable to the food industry, the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act, and other laws pertaining to agriculture. We also have experience in water laws, public land laws and environmental regulations that are frequently involved in the operation of farms, ranches, and other agribusinesses.

We are experienced in representing both agriculture borrowers and lenders in cases relating to unsecured loans, subordinated debt transactions, real estate loans, loans secured primarily by personal property, and foreclosures. We can assist in structuring loan transactions and in assessing issues that arise during the borrower/lender relationship.

We have counseled agricultural clients on a variety of antitrust matters and have represented agricultural clients before the Idaho Potato Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, and grand jury proceedings.
